I’m the seed of the morning. I love the sun and rain.
I’m the seed of the evening, When you’re sleeping I’m awake.
Chorus
But I need your care, I need you to grow.
Will you help me?
Will you help me to grow?
Spring; Conservation; gardening; plant care (in door).
I have used this song with great effect during Spring and any time “New Growth” is being discussed. Generally aimed at the lower primary and pre-school child. A nice easy sing along song.
There are a number of activities covering a range of areas on this theme including Social Studies, science, Drama and singing housed in the MEMBERS CONTENT area of this web page.
As an example: Science:
Grow a seed in cotton wool (wheat seeds or broad bean seeds) in jars to watch the germination, sprouting and root growth.
Make a garden plot – flowers or bulbs; better still, a vegetable patch and when ripe; harvest and have a group activity of cleaning, pealing, dicing and boiling up into a vegetable stew.
