Hello Song notes

Purpose: Welcoming song to a liturgy or prayer service. Good start to a days work in the young classroom. The focus of the song is we are all different and celebrating the uniqueness of each other. (Its good to know we are not the same!)

Structure: Simple song – just copy (Echo) The idea behind this one is to have FUN! There is a long outtake on the recording where the musicians got to have some fun adding trombones, bells and whistles. My idea behind this was to get the children to take musical percussion instruments and play away at the end. Maybe some funny walks to go with it.

Activity: Finger prints on paper – eg: smart phones opened with thumb print – emphasising the unique difference from individual to individual.

List what is similar to each – and then list the differences (ie: we have hair – but it could be blond, brown, black – in my case grey or non-existent!)

Make some percussion instruments and shakers to use in the song.
