Don’t send them away

- Don’t Send Them Away
CH.
Don’t send them away, don’t send them away
Come to me children
In my loving arms you’ll stay
Don’t send them away, don’t send them away
Come to me children
In my loving arms you’ll stay
VS 1
People sought out the Lord
And they brought to Him children
They wanted His blessing
On one and all
His followers there
Went to send them away
But the Lord turned to them,
And He was heard to say CH.
VS 2
The message was simple,
The message was clear
To all of them present
Who had ears to hear?
To come into God’s kingdom,
One must become
Like a child who accepts all of God’s love. CH.

Some Participation Suggestions
Singing
- Another story song, with the chorus coming in at the beginning and the end – bookending the story.
- I usually just sing the story but playing the song is just as effective
- This tends to allows children to enact the story and audience the chance to witness the enactment
Activities
- Could be Dramatised or mimed.
- 2 groups required – one choir and the other the enactment group.
- I have had groups of children come up with their own actions for the verses.
