WILD – LIFE

  • Mark Bainbridge
  • Wild Life

Vs 1

Down in the bushes in the undergrowth,

Live the wildest creatures wilder than most.

They hide in the trees and make wild noises’

They make you shiver with their wild voices.

Their beady eyes look out at you

They size you up for people stew.

They set booby traps where you least expect it

Even at the dinner table when down you go to sit.

CH.

They make their home in the flower bed

In backyards of houses.so it’s said.

They could be at your place, they could be at mine.

I hope that I can get out in time!

From the Wild ones….

… the Wild ones….

… the Wild ones….are here!

VS.2

When you drive in the gateway

You can see where they’ve been!

The mischief the cause is quite a scene.

Bikes in the garden and holes in the lawn,

Sprinklers left on and huge puddles formed.

And when through the door you carefully glance

You find they’ve left their clothes.

Their socks, shoes and pants!

And as you gamely step inside feeling low.

The Wild ones come out and say…”Daddy! Hello!”

CH.

They make their home in the flower bed

In backyards of houses, so it’s said.

They could be at your place. I know they’re at mine.

Five little wild ones growing all the time!

The Wild ones,…

… the Wild ones….

… the Wild ones….are here!
